Kolkata, Jan 30 (NationPress) The government of West Bengal has officially appointed Peeyush Pandey as the new Acting Director General of Police, succeeding Rajeev Kumar, who is set to retire on Saturday.

In addition to this significant change, the state government has also revealed the new leadership for the Kolkata Police. Suprateem Sarakr, currently serving as the Additional Director General of Police (South Bengal), will take on the role of Kolkata Police Chief.

Manoj Kumar Verma, the outgoing Kolkata Police Commissioner, is transitioning to the position of Director (Securities).

Javed Shamim, who was the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), will now lead as the Additional Director General of Police (Special Task Force).

Praveen Kumar Tripathi, the Commissioner of Howrah Police Commissionerate, is being promoted to the Commissioner of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate.
