Additionally, Somaiya urged the Police Commissioner to initiate a thorough search operation in the area.
In a post on the social media platform X, Somaiya stated, "I met 12 workers, nine were Bangladeshi Muslims (Imman Husein, Amir Sohel, etc.). They claim to hail from Malda but possess no authentic documents. I have discussed the need for a combing operation with the Police Commissioner."
Previously, DCP Zone 9 Dixit Gedam mentioned, "On January 16, at 2 a.m., actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his residence. An FIR was filed, and one suspect has been apprehended. His name is Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, aged 30. He entered the premises with the intent to commit robbery. The investigation is ongoing."
According to Gedam, the suspect is reportedly from Bangladesh and lacks valid Indian documentation.
He further stated, "The suspect was using the alias Vijay Das. He arrived in Mumbai 5-6 months prior. Initially, he stayed in Mumbai for a few days and subsequently in the surrounding areas. He was employed at a housekeeping agency."
In the meantime, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that he has rendered Indian borders vulnerable, allowing Bangladeshis to enter unlawfully and engage in criminal activities.

The incident transpired at 2 a.m. on January 16 at Saif's 12th-floor apartment in Bandra. The assailant reportedly accessed the actor's residence via the staircase.
