Nitish Kumar Launches New Medical College in Saran District

Patna, Jan 8 (NationPress) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a significant visit to Saran district on Wednesday as part of the second phase of his Pragati Yatra. During this visit, he inaugurated and laid the groundwork for a multitude of projects worth crores of rupees.

A standout feature of his trip was the launch of the long-awaited medical college for the Saran division, a development anticipated to deliver substantial healthcare benefits to local populations. This new institution will ensure that residents, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, will no longer need to travel to Patna or other urban areas for medical treatment. This initiative is projected to dramatically enhance healthcare accessibility throughout the Saran division.

Additionally, Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid foundations for several other significant projects in Mahamda and Ekma Panchayats. These included renovations of Anganwadi centres, beautification and construction of Chhath Ghats in Belahi Pokhara, road repairs, tap repairs, the building of platforms, playgrounds, and rural markets under MNREGA, as well as the development of a nutrition garden and tree planting initiatives.

The community in Ekma expressed great enthusiasm over two road projects, as Nitish Kumar announced the widening of the Ekma-Dumadgarh 10 km road and the Ekma-Masrakh road. These developments aim to alleviate long-standing traffic issues faced by residents. The Chief Minister also convened a review meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium to evaluate the progress of various schemes and provided essential directives.

Nitish Kumar’s ongoing commitment to the region has strengthened public backing and enhanced the alliance's position ahead of the upcoming 2025 Assembly elections. Comprehensive security measures were implemented from the district headquarters to all event locations to guarantee the safety of the Chief Minister and ensure the seamless execution of the events.

The JDU-BJP alliance appears to maintain a robust presence in Saran district, attributed to Nitish Kumar’s emphasis on grassroots development and steady interaction with party affiliates.

His Pragati Yatra is perceived as a tactical approach to fortify public support for the alliance as the next Assembly elections approach.
