Greater Noida, Sep 1 (NationPress) The preparations for the formal inauguration of Noida International Airport located in Jewar, Greater Noida, are currently at an advanced stage. Officials have indicated that this monumental project is set for a likely inauguration in November.
As per Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), approximately 90 percent of the construction has been finalized, with the initial phase expected to be completely ready by October 25. Presently, finishing touches and thorough cleaning are being conducted throughout the site.
The airport authority has established staggered timelines for various sections. The forecourt, check-in areas, security hold, boarding gates, and departure flow zones are all aimed for completion by October 20, while the arrival and departure halls have already been finalized.
The construction of passenger boarding bridges is anticipated to wrap up by the end of September.
Essential infrastructure such as the fire station, airline offices, cargo terminal, runway, and ATC tower has been successfully completed, marking a crucial milestone toward operational readiness.
Officials have stated that the work on the arrival-departure road, including a 100-meter stretch leading to the airport, is also being expedited. Car parking facilities are scheduled for completion by October 25.
The CEO of Yamuna Authority mentioned that after construction is completed, an invitation will be extended to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the inauguration ceremony.
Following the inauguration, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will carry out inspections and grant necessary clearances before issuing the aerodrome license required for commercial flight operations.
