Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi Mourns the Loss of Former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh

Bhubaneswar, Dec 27 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, shared his heartfelt condolences on Thursday regarding the death of former Prime Minister and renowned economist Dr. Manmohan Singh.

"I am deeply saddened by the departure of former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. His commitment, integrity, and composed leadership will always be cherished. May Mahaprabhu Jagannath bless his soul and grant him eternal peace," CM Majhi mentioned on his official X account.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, CM Majhi remarked that the late Manmohan Singh was a remarkable son of the nation.

He further acknowledged that Dr. Singh had gained immense respect worldwide for his expertise and skill in economics.

“During his tenure as finance minister, he charted a new course for the nation’s economy. Thanks to his liberal economic strategies, India embarked on its journey as a significant global economy. As Prime Minister, he propelled the nation's growth across various sectors,” CM Majhi added.

Numerous other leaders, including Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and former CM Naveen Patnaik, have also conveyed their sympathy over the unfortunate passing of ex-PM Manmohan Singh.

Referring to Dr. Singh as the architect of economic reforms, BJD chief Patnaik expressed: "I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He served the nation with distinction in various roles. This learned and modest leader will be remembered as the architect of economic reforms that laid the groundwork for a new India and brought about positive transformations in people's lives. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and admirers."

Meanwhile, Deputy CM K.V. Singh Deo remarked that Dr. Manmohan Singh was a visionary leader, an exceptional economist, and a humble statesman.

He stated that Dr. Singh's contributions to India's growth and progress will be eternally remembered.

"Former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji embodied simplicity, humility, and integrity. He was among the rare breed of politicians who served the country with honor in multiple roles," wrote Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

"As a scholar and statesman, his policies have left an enduring impact on India's development landscape. I am saddened by his demise. My heartfelt condolences to his family during this time of sorrow," Pradhan added.

Former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at the age of 92 in Delhi on Thursday.
