Hyderabad, Dec 24 (NationPress) The inquiry concerning Tollywood star Allu Arjun relating to the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident extended for more than two hours at Chikkadpally Police Station on Tuesday.
Investigators were interrogating the 'Pushpa' star in the presence of his legal counsel.
The police team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Akshansh Yadav, was responsible for questioning the actor. Assistant Commissioner of Police L. Ramesh Kumar and Inspector Raju Naik were also present during the session.
With stringent security measures in place, the national award-winning actor arrived at Chikkadpally Police Station around 11 a.m.
On Monday, authorities had issued a notice to the actor, instructing him to appear for additional questioning.
Accompanying Allu Arjun were his father Allu Arvind, various family members, and his legal representatives.
The stampede at Sandhya Theatre on December 4 resulted in the death of a woman and left her son in critical condition during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'.
Charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder have been filed against the theatre management, Allu Arjun, and his team.
Designated as accused number 11 by the police, the actor was arrested on December 13. His statement was documented at Chikkadpally Police Station and he was subsequently presented in a city court, where he was placed in judicial custody for 14 days. However, on the same day, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks.
The following day, the actor was released from Chanchalguda Jail.
A new notice was issued to Allu Arjun amidst speculations that the police intend to petition the High Court to revoke his interim bail.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner C. V. Anand stated on Sunday that the police would determine the subsequent steps in the investigation after consulting legal advice.
The police chief also disclosed minute-to-minute CCTV footage of the Sandhya Theatre incident on Sunday to counter Allu Arjun's assertions.
A comprehensive 10-minute video was compiled to provide a clear depiction of events that unfolded on December 4, constructed after reviewing 1,000 video clips.
Allu Arjun was reportedly questioned based on video evidence and his statements made post-release from jail and on December 21.
During a speech in the Assembly on December 21, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized Allu Arjun for visiting the theatre without police authorization and conducting a 'roadshow' despite the tragic loss of a woman and grave injuries to her son.
Shortly after, Allu Arjun held a press conference, labeling the accusations as untrue and expressing his distress over what he described as a character assassination.
Nevertheless, the police released CCTV footage to disprove the actor's claims.
