Allu Arjun Secures Regular Bail in Theatre Stampede Incident

Hyderabad, Jan 3 (NationPress) A city court has granted regular bail to the well-known Tollywood actor Allu Arjun concerning the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident.

The Nampally Criminal Court, which had reserved its orders on January 30, announced the decision, allowing regular bail to the actor, who previously held interim bail for four weeks, as provided by the Telangana High Court.

The court mandated Allu Arjun to submit two sureties of Rs 50,000 each and instructed him to cooperate with the ongoing investigation by appearing at Chikkadpally Police Station every Sunday.

According to Allu Arjun's attorney, Ashok Reddy, the court also prohibited him from influencing any witnesses.

Law enforcement had opposed the actor's bail application, while his legal team argued that he was not responsible for the unfortunate incident.

A woman lost her life, and her son sustained severe injuries during the stampede that occurred at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'.

The police charged the theatre's management, Allu Arjun, and his team with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 in relation to this case and was subsequently presented before the Nampally court, which placed him into 14-day judicial custody.

His lawyers approached the High Court, which granted interim bail on the same day.

As the 11th named accused in the case, Allu Arjun was released from Chanchalguda Jail the following day.

Once the 14-day judicial remand concluded on December 27, the actor was required to appear before the court for further proceedings. After receiving court approval, he attended via video conference.

The court reviewed the petition for regular bail on December 27, and due to the police requesting additional time to respond, the hearing was postponed to December 30.

When granting interim bail for four weeks on December 13, the High Court instructed Allu Arjun to seek regular bail from the trial court.

As part of the investigation into the stampede, the police interrogated Allu Arjun on December 24, questioning him for three hours at Chikkadpally Police Station based on a 10-minute video compiled from CCTV footage of the incident.
