New Delhi, Sep 5 (NationPress) Lt Gen K.J.S. Dhillon (retd) commended the collaboration among the three services, the External Affairs Ministry, and the Home Ministry, along with other governmental bodies, for the triumph of 'Operation Sindoor'.
He also acknowledged the decision-makers’ attention to the finest details concerning target selection for the operation, the enhancement of intelligence, the cooperation of intelligence agencies, and the operational synergy among the three services, the External Affairs Ministry, the Home Ministry, and various government departments.
Previously, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi unveiled Lt Gen Dhillon’s (retd) book 'Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan'. This book details India’s significant multi-domain operation across the Line of Control (LoC) that took place earlier this year.
During the launch event, Gen Dwivedi emphasized that the operation extended beyond its widely recognized 88-hour duration.
“You might assume the conflict concluded on 10th May. No. It carried on for an extended period due to numerous decisions that needed to be addressed. When to initiate, when to conclude, how much to utilize regarding time, space, and resources… all these aspects were under continuous deliberation,” he stated.
Regarding his book, Lt Gen Dhillon (retd) expressed, "This book encapsulates everything post-independence, the buildup to Pulwama and Pahalgam, and clarifies the distinctions between Pulwama and Pahalgam, and the rationale behind why Pahalgam was necessary, leading up to the launch of Operation Sindoor on 6th and 7th May."
“I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have the chief present today. The book progresses into the planning, target selection, the ifs, buts, whys, and hows concerning the targets and subsequently aligns the targets with the appropriate weaponry,” he added.
He emphasized that the book also discusses the most suitable weapons for the chosen targets, and highlights the element of surprise, the rapid execution, and the resulting impact, including Pakistan's response and our kinetic response in the early hours of May 10.
