Parvesh Verma Critiques Kejriwal's Alleged Affection for Jats

New Delhi, Jan 9 (NationPress) The BJP candidate for the New Delhi Assembly seat, Parvesh Verma, a notable leader among the Jat community, criticized Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP administration on Thursday for their failure to implement any development initiatives in rural areas and for obstructing city farmers from accessing the Rs 18,000 annually PM Kisan Samman Nidhi provided by the Central government.
During a press conference, Verma stated, "Currently, as Kejriwal's AAP dreads a significant defeat in all 28 Assembly constituencies situated in rural areas, he has begun to discuss Jat quota and has developed a newfound sympathy for this community."
He emphasized that the BJP has historically respected the Jats in Delhi by appointing the city’s first Jat Chief Minister, Sahib Singh Verma.
According to Verma, the BJP has implemented quotas for Jats at the national level as well as in states like Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, along with granting constitutional status to the OBC Commission.
"The inclusion of Rajasthan's Jats into the Central OBC list was executed under PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee following a request from the then Rajasthan CM, Ashok Gehlot," Verma remarked.
He criticized Kejriwal for not managing to pass a resolution in the Delhi Assembly during the past decade to secure a quota for city Jats at the national level.
"This issue was brought up by former AAP minister and now BJP member Kailash Gahlot, but Kejriwal disregarded his suggestion to pass a resolution in the Assembly," Verma noted.
Attacking Kejriwal's approach to Jat politics, he declared, "This is the same Kejriwal who has never set foot in rural areas, does not permit Jats to enter his residence, has consistently refused to establish a memorial for my father and Jat leader Sahib Singh Verma, has not reduced the inflated power bills affecting Jat farmers, and has neglected to increase compensation for land acquisition."
Verma further criticized Kejriwal for overlooking the rural sectors of Delhi, giving credit to the Modi government for initiating extensive development projects in these areas.
"The Rs 26,000 crore Yashoboomi convention center has been constructed on the lands of Pochanpur and Bamnoli villages. The Urban Extension Road-II has significantly enhanced rural connectivity, as has the new Najafgarh Hospital built with Rs 100 crore," he explained.
Verma stated that Rs 960 crore has been allocated for development projects in rural Delhi through LG V.K. Saxena. The extension of the Metro line to Narela, Najafgarh, and Mundka has also been a remarkable gift from the Modi administration.
He claimed that Kejriwal has not constructed any roads, flyovers, or hospitals in rural regions, leading to 36 communities in Delhi Dehat deciding to withhold their votes from the AAP and prevent him from entering rural areas.
Furthermore, the BJP leader condemned Kejriwal for questioning the patriotism of Jats who serve in the military and combat against Pakistan.
Verma also expressed his disbelief regarding Kejriwal’s resistance to a job fair that he organized in the New Delhi constituency, where around 5,200 voters submitted applications for jobs.
"As part of my efforts, I am striving to connect these 5,200 unemployed youths with 50 companies for employment opportunities, but Kejriwal is obstructing my efforts. He has not provided jobs for anyone and is now hindering my attempts to do so," he stated.
