Parvesh Verma is the son of Sahib Singh Verma, a former Chief Minister of Delhi who held office from February 27, 1996, to October 12, 1998. Sahib Singh Verma’s administration is fondly remembered for its strong governance in Delhi's political landscape. It is clear that Parvesh has been influenced by a rich political heritage, deeply embedded within the BJP. Additionally, Parvesh's uncle, Azad Singh, has also made significant contributions to Delhi's politics, serving as the Mayor of North Delhi Municipal Corporation and contesting elections on the BJP ticket.

With nearly three decades of affiliation with the BJP, Verma's family has been deeply involved in the party's endeavors, which facilitated his rise within the political sphere as a prominent figure.

Parvesh Verma’s political journey commenced in 2013 when he contested the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections from Mehrauli, marking a crucial entry into state politics. Over the years, his influence has expanded, establishing him as a strong and decisive leader with a profound understanding of the challenges faced by Delhi residents.

He has served as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the Lok Sabha, representing West Delhi for two consecutive terms from 2014 to 2024. Parvesh Verma was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 2014 and was re-elected in 2019 for the 17th Lok Sabha. In his 2019 re-election, he achieved a historic milestone, securing the highest margin of victory in Delhi's electoral history - 578,486 votes.

During the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, Parvesh Verma's campaign resonated with the citizens of Delhi, focusing on critical issues such as accessing essential services in slum areas, including free water and electricity. He aggressively campaigned on the promise of enhancing these services, often stating, "If you’re receiving clean water and no electricity bills, vote for Kejriwal, but if not, vote for the BJP." His candid approach, paired with his commitments to infrastructure development, job creation, and transparent governance, garnered significant support.

Moreover, Verma’s campaign distinguished itself by emphasizing the rejuvenation of the Yamuna riverfront, the establishment of 50,000 government jobs, the aim of a pollution-free Delhi, and providing housing for slum residents. His ability to engage with the public and address their concerns has made him a well-liked figure throughout the city.
