Out of these, 428 were convicted thanks to rigorous monitoring, coordinated investigations, and prompt court procedures, as reported by an official spokesperson on Saturday.
Under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma, decisive measures are being enacted against those committing serious offenses. This reflects a notable advancement in expediting the judicial process and achieving tangible results.
A significant concentration of these cases originated from police jurisdictions in Bikram, Patliputra, Digha, Barh, Maner, Ghoswari, and Fatuha.
The police indicated that swift arrests, the gathering of technical and scientific evidence, high-quality investigations, and timely filing of charge sheets have been pivotal in attaining these convictions.
Ongoing supervision by designated officials, coupled with collaborative efforts involving the court, public prosecutors, and other relevant units, has ensured that critical evidence and key witnesses were presented to the court promptly.
The spokesperson also emphasized the essential role of the court in the swift resolution of serious cases.
By demonstrating sensitivity, quick action, meticulous examination of evidence, timely recording of witness statements, providing guidance to the prosecution, and maintaining regular oversight, the judiciary has bolstered the Patna Police's endeavors in crime reduction.
“The Patna Police extends its gratitude to the judiciary for their support,” the spokesperson remarked.
Officials further stated that strong evidence, comprehensive investigations, and ongoing monitoring have facilitated rapid justice for victims.
“Prompt convictions not only relieve complainants but also foster a deterrent effect, instilling fear among criminals and helping to reduce heinous crimes. Additionally, some victims received compensation in certain instances,” he added.
“Patna Police assures the public that this stringent approach to crime will persist. The department underlines that its primary goal is not just to ensure severe punishment for offenders but also to enhance the sense of safety, security, and public trust throughout the city,” he concluded.
