PM Modi Highlights Memorable Experiences from 2024 Odisha Visit

Bhubaneswar, Dec 31 (NationPress) On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared images showcasing some of the touching and memorable experiences from the year 2024. He also highlighted the wonderful moments he had during his visits to Odisha this year.

During his visit to Odisha in September, PM Modi was delighted by a serving of ‘Khiri’, an Odia sweet, offered by a tribal family who benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Gadakana, Bhubaneswar.

A defining moment unfolded when PM Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the home of Antaryami Nayak during their tour of the village.

For Antaryami, a daily wage worker who once resided in a crumbling mud house with his family, the dream of owning a solid brick home was once a distant hope.

Antaryami is among the beneficiaries of the PMAY scheme in the picturesque village of Gadakana Upara Sabar Sahi in Bhubaneswar, where lives are being positively affected.

Thanks to PMAY, Antaryami's family now enjoys a stable and comfortable pucca house.

Overjoyed by the visit from PM Modi and other dignitaries, Antaryami's daughter, Sadhabi Nayak, prepared a bowl of kheer, a traditional dessert, for the guests.

An emotional PM Modi later recounted that the kheer reminded him of his late mother.

Reflecting on the cherished moments, Sadhabi remarked, "Meeting the Prime Minister and Chief Minister felt like a blessing. When they tasted the kheer I made, I felt immense pride and gratitude. It was a day our family will always remember.”

In a similar vein, Jhuna Dehuri, a small shopkeeper from the same village, expressed his appreciation for the various schemes that have elevated his family’s situation. Besides PMAY, the Subhadra Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana have provided real benefits, including access to housing and clean cooking fuel.

When Jhuna and his wife Minati Dehuri met the Prime Minister, Minati gifted him a framed image of Lord Jagannath, a gesture rich in cultural significance. “The Prime Minister inquired about our well-being and how these initiatives have transformed our lives. We felt deeply honored that he took the time to hear our stories,” said Jhuna.

Recalling his interaction with the Prime Minister, Kishor Nayak from Gadakana stated, “Modi Sir stood in our yard and asked about our lives. We shared how the schemes have provided us with everything necessary to live with dignity. It felt like conversing with a genuine friend who truly cared about us.”

A Model Village in Progress

Gadakan Upara Sabar Sahi has emerged as a symbol of progress, with 36 beneficiaries receiving Rs 2 lakh each under PMAY. State government officials are dedicated to turning the village into a model settlement, ensuring the momentum of development persists.

The narratives of Antaryami, Jhuna, and Kishor highlight the profound influence of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other welfare initiatives on the lives of ordinary people. More than just structures, these programs have instilled hope, security, and a sense of belonging in those who needed it most.

As the day ends in the village, the sounds of children playing in front of their new homes and the pride reflected in their parents’ faces stand as a testament to the transformative power of a policy that prioritizes people.
