PM Modi Launches Delhi's Inaugural Namo Bharat Corridor with Train Journey

New Delhi, Jan 5 (NationPress) On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened a 13-kilometer segment of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, stretching from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar.

This project, built at an estimated expense of Rs 4,600 crore, represents a major advancement in regional connectivity, introducing Delhi's first Namo Bharat connectivity.

The new high-speed, dependable, and comfortable train service is designed to significantly reduce travel time for countless commuters, cutting their journey between Delhi and Meerut to under 40 minutes, which is a one-third reduction in travel time.

During his journey on the Namo Bharat Train, PM Modi purchased a smart ticket and engaged with passengers.

He conversed with school children who showcased their artistic sketches and recited poems. One student presented a poem titled "Nav Bharat," which received praise from the Prime Minister.

PM Modi also observed an exhibition that highlighted the construction process of the train network, where a model of the Namo Bharat train was gifted to him by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).

This train is equipped with modern features such as phone charging stations, luggage areas, a dedicated coach for women, and a premium coach. The fare for the journey from New Delhi to Meerut is priced at Rs 150.

Later in the day, PM Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the groundwork for several development initiatives in Delhi totaling over Rs 12,200 crore.

He will also launch a 2.8-kilometer section of the Delhi Metro Phase-IV that connects Janakpuri to Krishna Park, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore. This represents the first operational segment of Phase IV, benefiting areas such as Krishna Park, Vikaspuri, and Janakpuri in West Delhi.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for the 26.5-kilometer Rithala-Kundli segment of Delhi Metro Phase-IV, estimated at Rs 6,230 crore.

This corridor will improve connectivity between Rithala in Delhi and Nathupur (Kundli) in Haryana, providing significant benefits to regions like Rohini, Bawana, Narela, and Kundli.

Another significant undertaking includes the foundation stone for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) in Rohini, a cutting-edge facility expected to be built at a projected cost of Rs 185 crore.

PM Modi is also anticipated to address a public rally in the national capital at 1 p.m., marking the conclusion of these significant initiatives.
