Vav-Tharad (Gujarat), March 31 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday emphasized India’s resilience amidst global energy and geopolitical turmoil, especially in West Asia, while sharply condemning the Congress for “undermining” the national fabric and “spreading falsehoods.”

During the inauguration of projects worth over Rs 19,800 crore in Vav-Tharad, the Prime Minister pointed out the instability in West Asia and its repercussions on energy supplies globally.

“We can observe how several nations are grappling with uncertainty and instability due to ongoing conflicts. The repercussions are widespread as the challenges in global energy distribution persist. Countries are experiencing significant issues with diesel, petrol, and gas. Nonetheless, India has managed the situation effectively, thanks to our robust foreign policy and the solidarity of our citizens,” he stated.

PM Modi juxtaposed India’s stability with the actions of the Congress.

“Regrettably, certain political leaders continue to engage in politics as usual. The Congress is leading this charge. At a time when the nation requires unity, they are sowing discord. When reassurance is essential, they are instilling fear and perpetuating rumors. When patience is necessary, they are inciting unrest. Like political vultures, they are waiting for chaos in the country to capitalize on it electorally,” he remarked.

He spoke about soaring global fuel prices, noting that from small nations to superpowers, diesel and petrol costs have escalated by 10 to 25 percent.

“India is ensuring that its citizens are not adversely affected. The Congress fails to recognize this. They are incessantly spreading rumors and attempting to manipulate public sentiment for electoral gain,” he added.

The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction that his flight had landed for the first time at Deesa airbase.

“This airbase is merely 130 kilometers from the international boundary and is crucial for our national security,” he stated.

He reminisced that the vision for this project began during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, where land was procured for the airbase to bolster security along the western border.

“Those who governed in Delhi were ignorant of the animosity they held towards Gujarat. They delayed the project for years, leaving it in limbo. When you elected me to Delhi, I revived those stalled files, and consequently, Deesa now boasts an Air Force base,” PM Modi affirmed.

He further mentioned that the facility is not merely an airstrip, but a hub for various activities contributing to the region's advancement.

The Prime Minister unequivocally held Congress accountable for the delay in the project.

“The postponement was a direct result of the Congress’s nature. The nation will never overlook their negligence concerning national security. It is our administration that brought this project to fruition, marking a significant milestone for this region and a strategic asset for the country,” he stated.

Referring to India’s international standing, PM Modi highlighted the recent Global AI Summit held in Delhi, saying, "As evidenced in the Global AI Summit, numerous invited nations were present, and India received accolades, yet Congress members attempted to tarnish this image. They are echoing sentiments of those who speak against India. We must remain united, as we did during the COVID-19 pandemic."

The Prime Minister’s remarks coincided with the inauguration of projects aimed at enhancing regional development, energy, transport, and housing.

While these initiatives are anticipated to benefit communities throughout North Gujarat, PM Modi framed the event as a reminder of India’s fortitude on both domestic and global stages, and a call for unity in the face of political fragmentation.
