This newly opened 213-km access-controlled corridor aims to enhance regional connectivity by linking key towns such as Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli, and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, before leading to Dehradun. It will also connect with major national highways, including the Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Katra, and Delhi-Meerut expressways.
Prior to this, PM Modi assessed the wildlife corridor on the elevated section of the Economic Corridor in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
During the visit, Union Highways and Transportation Minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also in attendance.
An exhibition highlighting the construction process of the wildlife corridor was showcased, during which officials provided updates on the project to the Prime Minister.
