Mandya, April 15 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bhairavaikya Mandir at the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasansthan Math situated in Srikshetra Adichunchanagiri, Karnataka's Mandya district on Wednesday, emphasizing that India embodies a vibrant civilization with a cultural heritage that has persisted for thousands of years.

Prior to the inauguration, PM Modi paid his respects at the Kala Bhairava temple within the Math, offering floral tributes, folding his hands in devotion, and performing aarti for the idol of Lord Kala Bhairava.

He also offered prayers before the statue of the late Balagangadharanatha Swamiji and the idols of various deities, walking through the temple grounds with reverence.

Accompanying him were Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji, the head of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, and other esteemed guests.

In his address to a large audience, the Prime Minister remarked on the rarity of ancient traditions being preserved in a living form, citing the Adichunchanagiri Math as a remarkable example of historical continuity, enriched by nearly 2,000 years of unbroken spiritual lineage and community service.

He noted that Karnataka symbolizes a unique blend of tatvajnan (philosophy) and tantrajnan (technology), showcasing both profound spiritual heritage and technological progress. He described the Adichunchanagiri Mahasansthan as a treasured asset to the region, contributing to society through its teachings and moral guidance.

PM Modi emphasized the significant role of spiritual leaders in societal development, noting that influential figures not only focused on spirituality but also lived among the people, sharing their challenges and guiding them toward advancement. He recalled the enduring influence of the late Balagangadharanatha Swamiji, whose legacy continues to motivate people today.

He acknowledged the late seer's contributions across various sectors like education and healthcare, ensuring that the underprivileged received essential benefits. For such leaders, devotion transcended mere spirituality, extending to addressing community needs and enhancing welfare.

Drawing parallels with government efforts, the Prime Minister stated that his administration is aligned with a vision of comprehensive development. He highlighted the success of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which has facilitated free treatment for millions, now extended to citizens over 70 years to ensure dignified healthcare.

On environmental issues, PM Modi mentioned the late seer's initiatives for the conservation of peacocks, framing it as both an ecological and cultural endeavor. He pointed out that the peacock, India's national bird, holds spiritual significance as Lord Subramanya's vehicle.

In a personal reflection, PM Modi shared that peacocks frequently visit his residence in New Delhi, where he admires their tranquil and graceful demeanor.

The Prime Minister expressed that the spiritual experience of prayer at the Kalabhairava temple and the inauguration of the Bhairavaikya Mandir would remain a cherished memory, and every visit to Karnataka recharges his inspiration.
