Political Events in Kolkata Commemorating Babri Demolition Day

Kolkata, Dec 6 (NationPress) Various political factions in West Bengal, both in power and in opposition, are hosting distinct events in Kolkata today to mark the anniversary of the Babri mosque demolition.
The Trinamool Congress will celebrate 'Sanhati Diwas (Unity Day) by conducting rallies and meetings across the state all day long.
In contrast to previous years, there will be no centralized events this time. Trinamool Congress will hold smaller rallies and gatherings in local blocks, municipalities, and municipal corporations.
On Friday, the Winter Session of the State Assembly will not take place to allow legislators from the ruling party to engage in 'Sanhati Diwas' activities within their localities.
Although the Babri Mosque Demolition Day has been observed annually on December 6 since the Trinamool Congress came to power in West Bengal in 2011, ending a 34-year rule by the Left Front, this is the first time the Assembly session has been suspended for this occasion.
The BJP has criticized the ruling party's choice to halt the proceedings of the House for a day.
The Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, has announced that the state unit of BJP will commemorate Shaurya Diwas (Pride Day) on Friday.
In addition to various events throughout the day, the BJP will host a central rally from Shyambazar five-point crossing to Sinthi Crossing, both located in North Kolkata, which will be led by Suvendu Adhikari.
The All India Secular Front (AISF), represented by only one member in the state Assembly, has decided to observe the Babri Mosque Demolition Day as 'Dhikkar Diwas' (Condemnation Day). The party will conduct two events in Basirhat in North 24 Parganas district and Bhangar in South 24 Parganas.
