Ranchi, July 31 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu is set to make a two-day journey to Jharkhand beginning Thursday. During this visit, she will serve as the chief guest at the inaugural convocation ceremony of AIIMS Deoghar and will also honor the 45th convocation ceremony of IIT-ISM Dhanbad.
As per Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Murmu will grace the AIIMS convocation on Thursday.
Following this, she will travel to Dhanbad for the IIT-ISM convocation on Friday, where her stay is anticipated to last about an hour. Notably, President Murmu will be only the second President to attend a convocation at IIT ISM, with former President Pranab Mukherjee having been the chief guest at the 36th convocation on May 10, 2014.
To ensure a seamless and secure visit, comprehensive preparations are currently in progress. Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren are expected to accompany her during the ceremonies.
Authorities are actively collaborating to finalize logistics and security measures.
The vicinity around the Dhanbad airstrip will be designated a 'no-flying zone' from 10 a.m. on Thursday until 6 p.m. on Friday for the President's visit.
During this 32-hour period, the operation of drones, hot air balloons, and paragliders will be strictly prohibited.
All senior administrative and police personnel have been instructed to be on duty, with their leaves revoked for the duration of the visit.
Revised traffic regulations will also be implemented throughout the city. The entry of heavy vehicles will be restricted from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday and from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday to ensure the smooth movement of the President's convoy.
Initially, President Murmu was scheduled to arrive in the state on June 10, but her visit was postponed.
