Rajkot/Gandhinagar, April 10 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu is set to participate in two significant convocation ceremonies in Gujarat on April 13 and 14, as announced by officials on Friday.
The first event will occur at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot on April 13, where the institute will celebrate its inaugural convocation. During this ceremony, degrees will be awarded to the first cohort of MBBS students who enrolled in 2020.
A total of 49 students will receive their MBBS degrees, and one student will be honored with a Post Doctoral Certificate in Virology.
As the chief guest, Murmu is expected to deliver an address and present medals and degree certificates. Notably, ten medals will be distributed to MBBS students, including four gold, three silver, and three bronze for outstanding academic performance.
The ceremony is anticipated to attract approximately 700 attendees, comprising graduates, their families, faculty members, and special guests.
Among the notable attendees are Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel, and State Health Minister Praful Pansheriya.
Established in 2019, AIIMS Rajkot is recognized as an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
On April 14, the President will grace the fifth convocation of Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in Gandhinagar. Scheduled for around 5 p.m. at the university's campus in Lavad-Dehgam, the event highlights RRU's focus on national security and police studies and its status as an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Preparations for the President's visit are now underway, ensuring a memorable event.
Last year, she visited Gujarat in October for a three-day tour, participating in various official engagements, including a convocation at Gujarat Vidyapith in Ahmedabad.
