Bhopal, July 25 (NationPress) Members of various right-wing groups, including Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), staged a demonstration, alleging that Hindu families are being coerced to migrate from the Banganga locality in Bhopal.
On Thursday, these activists occupied the road for over two hours, chanting slogans and reciting the Hanuman Chalisa.
Numerous local residents, including children and elderly individuals, joined the protest.
This demonstration was organized by the 'Sakal Hindu Sangathan', a right-wing entity, with backing from Bajrang Dal and VHP, among others.
The protest was triggered by a complaint from a woman in Banganga, who reported to the T.T. Nagar police station that some individuals had misbehaved with her and insulted her.
Upon her objection, the alleged culprits threatened her with serious repercussions.
Upon learning of the incident, right-wing activists arrived at the T.T. Nagar police station, demanding swift action against the individuals who had allegedly harassed the woman.
Following this, the activists protested on the road in Banganga, causing traffic disruptions for over two hours.
The protest was monitored by police officers, and no significant incidents were reported.
After the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa, the demonstrators dispersed, and traffic in Banganga was restored to normal.
A senior police official present at the scene stated that a woman had reported that some individuals from the Muslim community had misbehaved with her, and she alleged that a group had previously invaded her home.
"The police acted promptly on her complaint, resulting in the arrest of three individuals related to the incident. We have not received any reports regarding the forced migration of Hindu families in this area," the police official informed reporters at the protest site.
Subsequently, BJP MLA from Bhopal, Rameshwar Sharma, claimed that he had received information about a conspiracy to force Hindu families to leave the Banganga area.
He expressed his support for the protest, stating, "Hindu families will not be forced to migrate from Banganga. Those attempting to incite unrest will face legal consequences. I have requested Bhopal District Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh and Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayana Chari Mishra to investigate the situation and take necessary actions."
