Protests Erupt in Noida Against Atrocities Faced by Hindus in Bangladesh

Noida, Dec 8 (NationPress) A significant assembly of Hindu organisations took to the streets in Noida, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, pressing for action concerning the persistent atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
The demonstrators demanded prompt intervention to safeguard the Hindu minority in the neighboring nation, emphasizing the hardships endured by women and children in particular.
In an interview with IANS, Sanjay Bali, the Programme Coordinator for the protest, stated, “We are protesting against the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. Hindu organisations from Gautam Buddh Nagar have gathered in large numbers to denounce these violent acts. We cannot remain passive while women and children suffer. We will never permit such atrocities to persist.”
Yogi Dhananjay, another participant in the protest, voiced his concern over the ongoing violence, mentioning, “What is transpiring is truly disheartening. Despite the empowerment of Hindus, such incidents continue. It is crucial for Hindus to unite. We need to grow stronger and more cohesive. We must recall the saying ‘Veer Bhogya Vasundhara,’ which signifies that only the powerful will inherit the earth.”
Social activist Ehsan Khan also joined the demonstration, insisting that the Bangladesh government take decisive measures to halt the violence.
“We are here to protest against the atrocities faced by Hindus. We implore the Bangladesh government to cease this violence and guarantee the safety of Hindus. If they fail to act, India may need to intervene,” he remarked.
One protestor added, “We are not just advocating for ISKCON but for all Hindus in Bangladesh. We are praying for their safety, and over 1,000 individuals in ISKCON temples worldwide are keeping them in their prayers. We are protesting to pressure the Bangladesh government to take action.”
The demonstration was met with stringent security protocols by Noida Police to maintain law and order during the rally. The protestors also called upon the Central government to ensure the protection of Hindus in Bangladesh.
The situation escalated following the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu Das, a former ISKCON monk and spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote. Das was apprehended by Bangladeshi authorities while heading to a rally and accused of sedition. His detention has incited violent clashes in Bangladesh, leading to casualties and further heightening tensions. Reports of assaults on Hindu homes and businesses have also raised alarms regarding the increasing violence against the minority community in the area.
This issue has garnered the attention of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has voiced concerns over the situation. She has accused the current government of committing genocide against minorities, especially Hindus, amid escalating tensions between Bangladesh and India concerning the treatment of Hindu minorities.
