Muktsar (Punjab), Jan 14 (NationPress) On Tuesday, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, along with a group of Cabinet Ministers, visited the historic Gurdwara Tutti Gandi Sahib to pay their respects during the Maghi festival in this town of Punjab.
The roads leading to the gurdwara were bustling with a large crowd of devotees.
Among those who paid homage were Speaker Sandhwan, New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Aman Arora, Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Social Security Minister Baljeet Kaur, and Sangrur MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer.
They collectively prayed for the welfare of the community.
On this significant day, Harpal Kaur, the mother of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, also participated in the prayers at the gurdwara.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, the police implemented adequate security measures as crowds from various regions gathered to pay their respects.
A special horse fair was held at Ghora Mandi, where sellers showcased horses, various animals, birds, and numerous dog breeds.
The Maghi festival honors the martyrdom of 40 Sikh warriors who valiantly fought alongside the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.
In a touching act of community spirit, the Punjab Police Sewa Committee organized a langar (community kitchen) outside the Punjab Police headquarters in Chandigarh.
During this event, an 'ardas' was conducted for Sarbat Da Bhala, seeking the well-being and prosperity of all.
