Chandigarh, March 25 (NationPress) Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on Tuesday for attempting to hold the peacefully protesting farmers responsible for the March 19brutal crackdown’ against them.

“This is a classic example of the pot calling the kettle black,” stated the state president in response to the Punjab government’s affidavit submitted to the Punjab and Haryana Court, which claimed it had intelligence reports warning of potential violence from the protesting farmers.

“Is the AAP attempting to rationalize its own violent actions against farmers by fabricating and disseminating falsehoods, a characteristic for which the AAP is notorious, by asserting that it possessed intelligence suggesting violence from the farmers?” he questioned, emphasizing that the farmers have consistently maintained a peaceful stance during their protests at the Delhi border, as well as at Shambhu and Kanauhri since February 2024.

“There is absolutely no reason to fear or suspect that they would engage in violence in any form,” he stated. The state Congress President also accused the AAP government of steering Punjab toward a scenario where only a financial emergency would be viable.

“The AAP government has earned another dubious accolade for Punjab; due to an inefficient, incompetent, inexperienced, and yet arrogant administration, the state now holds the title of the second most debt-ridden state in the nation,” he remarked, asserting that the AAP was dismantling Punjab politically, economically, and financially.

Warring referred to data from the Union Finance Ministry, stating it corroborated the Congress party's longstanding warnings regarding the AAP government’s incompetence and arrogance. He highlighted that the AAP administration had accrued approximately Rs one lakh crores in additional debt over the past three years.
