Key Takeaways
Jaipur, Dec 30 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Cabinet has sanctioned the Rajasthan Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) Policy-2026, a significant advancement towards establishing the state as a burgeoning center for technology-driven investment and innovation.
Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa stated that this policy, unveiled in the state budget earlier in the year, acknowledges the increasing relevance of information technology in public service delivery and seeks to enhance e-governance across various departments.
The core aim of the policy is to accelerate public services, ensuring they are quicker, more transparent, and centered around citizens through the responsible, ethical, and secure application of AI and ML, all while boosting administrative efficiency and fostering innovation-led economic growth.
Bairwa remarked that the policy emphasizes the creation of transparent, accountable, fair, and privacy-protected AI systems.
Key aspects include mitigating bias in AI-driven decision-making, guaranteeing data security and safeguarding personal information, ensuring AI decision processes are explainable and auditable, and instituting clear mechanisms for addressing AI-related cybercrimes.
The policy also aims to set up an Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence in Rajasthan to bolster research, innovation, and capacity building.
As part of the initiative, every government department will pinpoint AI-driven use cases within its operations and appoint an AI Nodal Officer for implementation and coordination.
The state will foster the growth of advanced digital infrastructure, including AI cloud services, secure data repositories, testing platforms, and high-performance computing facilities. AI education and skill enhancement will be promoted across schools, ITIs, polytechnics, and colleges.
Specialized AI training programs will be initiated for youth, educators, and government personnel. Industries, MSMEs, startups, and research institutions engaged in AI-related ventures will qualify for additional incentives aligned with the RIPS, MSME, and Startup Policies.
Public Health Engineering Minister Kanhaiya Lal conveyed that the Cabinet has also endorsed the Green Credit Voucher Initiative-2025, aimed at fostering a green and circular economy.
This scheme will offer extra incentives to urban local bodies and investors involved in projects focused on sustainable and environmentally conscious development.
Under this initiative, tradable and redeemable green credits will be issued in voucher form, linking environmental performance with economic advantages.
Enterprises and local bodies will be encouraged to engage in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management, water conservation, air pollution control, sustainable construction, and eco-friendly agriculture.
This initiative is anticipated to expedite both private and public investment in sustainability-driven projects while advancing Rajasthan’s long-term environmental objectives.
