Jaipur, Jan 6 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated on Tuesday that artificial intelligence (AI) is crafting a new narrative and language for humanity in the 21st century.
He highlighted that AI is an essential element of Rajasthan's growth trajectory and, when applied judiciously, can greatly enhance e-governance, digital inclusion, and citizen-focused service delivery.
The Chief Minister made these remarks during the opening session of the Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference 2026, which took place at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC).
He pointed out that AI is ushering in transformative advancements across sectors like healthcare, education, agriculture, and governance, and is set to be instrumental in realizing the aspirations for a Developed India and a Developed Rajasthan.
Sharma extended an invitation to entrepreneurs, investors, and the youth from all over the nation to engage with Rajasthan's swiftly evolving AI ecosystem.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, he noted that India is establishing new standards in AI.
“AI has transcended being merely a technology; it is now the cornerstone of national strength, prosperity, policymaking, security, and social progress in the 21st century. The newly introduced AI–Machine Learning Policy, 2026 will ensure that AI systems maintain transparency, impartiality, and respect for privacy,” he added.
This policy aims to enhance public service delivery, making it quicker, more transparent, and centered around citizens, while also boosting administrative efficiency, CM Sharma remarked.
The Chief Minister also announced the creation of an AI Centre of Excellence, the simplification of AI-related cybercrime reporting and resolution, and the promotion of AI education in schools, ITIs, polytechnics, and colleges.
“Special incentives will be available for industries, startups, and research institutions engaged in the AI sector,” he stated.
Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, mentioned that new skill development programs will be initiated in partnership with industry bodies to foster electronics manufacturing in Rajasthan.
“Through these initiatives, specialized training will be provided to 5,000 youth,” he added.
He also announced the establishment of a data center in Rajasthan, with groundwork set to commence soon.
The Union Minister underscored ongoing efforts to bolster railway connectivity in border regions, including Bikaner–Jaisalmer and nearby areas, to improve security, development, and connectivity.
CM Sharma noted that Rajasthan Digifest has evolved into a powerful platform that links startups with investors, students with opportunities, and industries with governmental backing.
He pointed out that discussions in fields such as AI-Machine Learning, FinTech, AgriTech, Augmented Reality-Virtual Reality, and PropTech are paving new paths for innovation and job creation.
The Chief Minister stated that Rajasthan boasts over 6.5 crore mobile users, with monthly UPI transactions surpassing Rs 81,000 crore.
“To combat the rise in cybercrime, stringent measures are being enacted under Operation Anti-Virus.”
He mentioned that policies such as the AVGC-XR Policy, Data Center Policy 2025, Atal Innovation Studios, Startup Launchpad, LEAP Program, and Centre for Advanced Skilling are fostering employment and innovation.

Union Minister Vaishnaw, addressing the conference via video link, stated that AI will soon become an integral aspect of daily life, impacting every individual, household, and business.
He affirmed the Union government's dedication to making AI inclusive, accessible, and beneficial to all.
He highlighted India’s swift advancements in AI technologies and the development of a Common Computing Platform to provide affordable advanced computing resources nationwide.
The Union Minister declared that India now ranks among the top three nations globally in AI development, alongside China and the US.
“India's robust IT industry, strong digital infrastructure, extensive talent pool, and innovation-driven ecosystem are positioning the nation as a global leader in artificial intelligence,” he noted.
Union Minister Vaishnaw commended Rajasthan's initiatives under Chief Minister Sharma, particularly those related to AI training programs for students and youth, as well as advancements in electronics manufacturing, semiconductor ecosystems, and data center development.
He expressed optimism that Rajasthan will emerge as a significant hub for technological innovation.
Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Jitin Prasada, remarked that India's rapid digital advancement is a testament to the Prime Minister's visionary leadership.
He emphasized that the Union government's priority is the democratization of technology, ensuring that AI benefits reach villages and the most marginalized sections of society, not just major urban areas.
He also mentioned that digital platforms must distinctly identify AI-generated content and announced that India will soon host a Global AI Summit, with participation from international governments, global companies, and technology experts.
