Jaipur, Dec 10 (NationPress) The Rajasthan government celebrated the launch of the inaugural Pravasi Rajasthani Divas with significant economic announcements, including the signing of business agreements valued at Rs 1 lakh crore at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC).
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma kicked off the first-ever Pravasi Rajasthani Divas, encouraging expatriate Rajasthanis to invest and engage in development within their home state.
“Everything has transformed here in just two years. Industries are now equipped with all necessary facilities,” he stated, revealing plans for 14 new chapters in Rajasthan to link NRIs with local business opportunities.
Union Industry Minister Piyush Goyal urged the global Rajasthani community to act as brand ambassadors for the state.
The Union Minister remarked, “There are over one crore Rajasthani NRIs worldwide. If each contributes, Rajasthan can undoubtedly emerge as India’s top state.”
Rajasthan Governor Gulab Chand Kataria emphasized that Rajasthan should not be undervalued. “Don’t perceive Rajasthan as barren and impoverished. The people here are capable, and the land holds vast potential,” he asserted.
He called upon expatriates to return and play a role in the state’s progress.
Kataria pointed out the state’s abundant mineral resources, including recent gold finds in Banswara’s Bhukhia village, which have enhanced Rajasthan’s mining prospects.
Chief Minister Sharma unveiled various initiatives to bolster governance, support industry, and enhance infrastructure.
Emphasizing the government’s pro-investor stance, he announced the establishment of a dedicated department for NRIs to assist diaspora investors.
He also mentioned that the state has created 92,000 government jobs in two years, ensuring a corruption-free recruitment process with “no exam paper leaks.”
Sharma guaranteed industries a 24-hour uninterrupted power supply soon and highlighted the advancement of significant water projects, including the Ram Jal Setu scheme and an agreement for Yamuna water supply benefiting multiple districts.
Rajasthan Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore detailed the government’s commitment to expanding industrial infrastructure, announcing the creation of 37 new industrial zones and over 2,000 industrial plots, alongside new policies aimed at streamlining processes and enhancing the business environment.
The summit also featured lively performances of Kalbelia and Kacchi Ghodi dance, showcasing Rajasthan’s traditional allure.
An exhibition highlighting the state’s heritage, craftsmanship, and business strengths was organized in the Pragati Path Hall, attended by the Governor, Chief Minister, and various dignitaries.
With more than 8,000 registrations and nearly 1,000 attendees during the inauguration, the event witnessed strong participation. Several overseas Rajasthanis and industry leaders were honored during the ceremony.
A notable attraction of the summit was the ‘Progress Path Hall’, which presented the state’s long-term Vision 2047, showcasing advancements in renewable energy, heritage architectural models, and future infrastructure plans that embody Rajasthan’s ambitions for the coming two decades.
