Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bareilly, Feb 25 (NationPress) The President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, has expressed his support for Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's efforts in addressing the Gaza-Palestine situation. He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have refrained from meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, especially in light of corruption allegations and ongoing international court cases.
In a conversation with IANS, Maulana Razvi stated: "Priyanka Gandhi's approach to the Gaza-Palestine issue is commendable. She has addressed it appropriately and advocated for justice, consistently standing by the oppressed, particularly the people of Gaza."
He clarified, "While I do not label the Prime Minister as anti-Muslim, he does maintain positive relations with Arab nations, Muslim countries, and Indian Muslims. However, given the current climate, his meeting with Netanyahu was inappropriate. Netanyahu faces corruption allegations and is responsible for the loss of countless lives, including women, children, and the elderly. His associates are imprisoned for corruption, and the International Court has issued a warrant against him."
Maulana Razvi pointed out that Israel's actions have perpetually targeted Muslim nations, resulting in continuous violence against Palestinian Muslims. "This is why Muslims worldwide, including those in Arab countries, oppose Israel. The current tension between the US and Iran further complicates matters, making the Prime Minister's visit to Israel ill-timed," he added.
He commended Priyanka Gandhi for her enduring support for Gaza: "She has consistently voiced her opposition to Israel, shown solidarity with Gaza's population, and even represented Palestinian symbols in Parliament, highlighting her commitment to the Palestinian cause."
In a recent post on X, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called on the Prime Minister to acknowledge the deaths of thousands of innocent individuals in Gaza during his forthcoming visit to Israel and to advocate for justice on their behalf. "India has always championed righteousness throughout our history as an independent nation. We must continue to illuminate the principles of truth, peace, and justice for the world," she stated.
