Residents of Rajouri Celebrate as Jal Jeevan Mission Approaches Completion in the Border District

Rajouri, Jan 7 (NationPress) The long-awaited aspiration of the local populace is finally materializing, as the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) approaches its completion in the border district of Jammu and Kashmir.

This groundbreaking initiative, initiated by the Central Government, is designed to deliver a clean and dependable water supply through a comprehensive pipeline network, thereby alleviating the challenges faced by communities that have endured water shortages for many years.

Residents from mountainous regions such as Dasal are filled with joy regarding the advancements made. They are expressing their appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the administration for emphasizing the enhancement of remote regions.

“For many years, our families, particularly women, had to trek great distances to collect water. Now, as this initiative nears completion, we are witnessing a dream fulfilled. It’s a remarkable gift to our district,” remarked a local inhabitant.

Ashwani Khajuria, an official from the Jal Shakti Department in Rajouri, provided updates on the mission's status.

He mentioned that there are 183 projects under his division, all of which are actively in progress.

Approximately 75 percent of the work has been accomplished in several projects, while others are advancing steadily. To date, 33 projects have been commissioned, and they are already providing water consistently to households.

Residents of Dasal also conveyed their gratitude to the Jal Shakti Department, recognizing the dedication and efforts of his team in accelerating the project. The community believes the department’s commitment has been crucial in transforming their long-desired dream into reality.

The Jal Jeevan Mission aims to tackle and remedy the water scarcity issues faced by thousands of families in Rajouri. As the scheme approaches completion, it is poised to revolutionize access to clean water throughout the district, ensuring health, sanitation, and sustainable development.

This development highlights the Centre’s dedication to bridging the gaps in fundamental infrastructure and instigating transformative change in border districts like Rajouri.
