New Delhi, April 5 (NationPress) Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and India's ascent as a global force, Pervinder Singh Chandhok, a second-generation Indian entrepreneur residing in Tehran and affiliated with the India-Iran and Middle East Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, emphasized that it is due to the relentless endeavors of the Modi administration that Indian citizens can now utilize their RuPay cards abroad, including in the Gulf region.

In a conversation with IANS, Chandhok highlighted PM Modi's escalating prominence on the international stage and mentioned that the Indian leader bears a significant responsibility in fostering dialogue amid ongoing global tensions, particularly those affecting the Middle East.

When queried about the evolution of India's relationships with Middle Eastern nations over the past decade, Chandhok characterized the transformation under PM Modi’s leadership as a source of pride for every Indian.

"As a resident of the United Arab Emirates, being able to use your Indian card there, specifically the RuPay card, is a moment of pride. It makes you feel proud that your rupee operates in another nation. This achievement is solely due to the policies of the Modi government," he stated.

He further remarked that the Prime Minister's influence and leadership have become essential in the current global landscape, particularly in preventing conflicts from escalating worldwide.

"In the prevailing global scenario, one hopes that the world does not descend into war—whether between two nations or a broader conflict. PM Modi has a significant role and responsibility to maintain global security," he noted.

Regarding India's firm response to previous comments made by the Iranian Supreme Leader about the Muslim community in India, Chandhok expressed that such statements should not derail the strong bonds between India and Middle Eastern countries.

He asserted that the leadership in the region remains focused on strengthening partnerships with India.

"Middle Eastern leadership values its relationship with India and aims to enhance bilateral ties. Minor disagreements and discussions do not hinder their approach. These countries have adopted a policy line aimed at deepening their relationship with a powerful India," he observed.

When asked about the potential reaction of the Arab world to the passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Chandhok supported the legislation, stating it was introduced for the benefit of all Indians, including Muslims.

"I believe India has made this decision in the best interests of its populace, including the Muslim community. Speculating on reactions would be premature on my part, as we respect everyone's right to express their views. However, I have noticed third parties interfering in India's domestic policies aimed at the welfare of its citizens," he concluded.
