Mumbai, March 20 (NationPress) Shiv Sena-UBT MP Sanjay Raut raised questions regarding the timing of the petition submitted by Disha Salian's father, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, which calls for a CBI investigation into the events surrounding her death in June 2020.
The petition seeks for the court to file an FIR against Aaditya Thackeray, a leader of Shiv Sena-UBT.
Disha Salian's father, Satish, has claimed that his daughter was subjected to gang rape and subsequently murdered.
"I am unaware of the specifics of the petition. However, the timing coincides with a period of heightened tension in Maharashtra regarding Aurangzeb. There appears to be an external influence directing the petitioner. All forces are rallying around them. This discussion diverts attention from the Aurangzeb issue, and there is no necessity to disclose the individuals orchestrating this," stated Raut.
"The ongoing attempts to tarnish the Thackeray family's reputation are evident, especially now that the Aurangzeb matter has turned against the government. It seems this case has surfaced over the last four days to distract from the Aurangzeb controversy," Raut alleged.
"It is not the ethos of Maharashtra to sully the future and aspirations of a young leader in such a manner. Similar tactics have been employed against many leaders, including myself, but they have yielded no results," he remarked.
"Who is orchestrating this? Who holds the power? We possess ample information about those operating behind the scenes. If this is the nature of your politics, it will spell disaster for you," he cautioned.
"Numerous such cases arise in Maharashtra and across the nation. Family members consistently come forth seeking justice, cooperating with police investigations. This is a tradition. After five years, they claim they were pressured. How can this be credible?" he questioned.
"The party has endured numerous attacks and is advancing vigorously. Under Uddhav Thackeray's leadership, the party has revitalized itself. If we are to unearth such issues, then the graves of Justice Lohia and Sohrabuddin must also be reopened, as there are countless similar cases throughout Maharashtra requiring renewed investigation," Raut elaborated.
Former Mayor Kishori Pednekar also expressed skepticism regarding the motives behind the petition, questioning why it was filed nearly five years after the CID investigation and the ongoing SIT probe.
