Indore, Sep 20 (NationPress) Sanskriti Verma, a victim of the recent truck accident in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, has been airlifted to Mumbai for advanced medical care as her condition worsened on Saturday.

The 17-year-old was receiving treatment for severe injuries at Bhandari Hospital in Indore, but has now been transferred to Bombay Hospital in Mumbai for specialized surgery, as confirmed by a statement from the state government.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on his official X account that he had arranged for Sanskriti's airlift from Indore to Bombay Hospital for urgent surgical intervention.

"Sanskriti Verma was initially being treated at Bhandari Hospital, and she is now being shifted to Bombay Hospital in Mumbai. I pray to Lord Mahakal for her rapid and full recovery," wrote the Chief Minister on X.

Reports indicate that Sanskriti Verma suffered multiple fractures after being struck by a truck in Indore on September 15, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left 12 others injured.

All those injured are currently being treated at various hospitals, including Geetanjali Hospital, Verma Union Hospital, Aurobindo Hospital, and Banthia Hospital in Indore, with a range of injuries such as head trauma, multiple fractures, and amputations.

In the wake of the incident, a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) was removed from his position, and eight police officers, including an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), faced immediate suspension.

While taking disciplinary actions against the DCP and the eight officers, CM Yadav also announced rewards for Police Constable Pankaj Yadav and auto-rickshaw driver Anil Kothari, whose quick actions helped save numerous lives.

The Chief Minister declared financial aid of Rs 4 lakh each for the families of the three deceased men and Rs 1 lakh each for the 12 injured individuals currently receiving treatment at four private hospitals in Indore.
