Key Takeaways
Jammu, February 23 (NationPress) – The Army announced on Monday that during an exhaustive joint operation spanning 326 days in the high-altitude region of Chatroo in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, seven notorious terrorists have been neutralized.
The Nagrota-based White Knight Corps shared on X that this operation faced significant challenges in the harsh climates of the union territory.
In a post titled "Elimination of Terrorists," the Army stated, "Painstaking high-altitude operations were undertaken over 326 days in the Kishtwar area. Our forces engaged with the terrorists amidst severe cold, wet conditions, and difficult terrain, resulting in multiple confrontations."
According to the Army's post, "The troops of #WhiteKnightCorps, @JmuKmrPolice, and #CRPF, supported by a robust intelligence network created by both civil and military intelligence agencies, successfully eliminated all seven terrorists in Chatroo, Kishtwar."
"We consistently utilized advanced technology, including FPV drones, satellite imagery, and RPAs/UAVs, to aid our operations. The unwavering commitment and determination of our forces culminated in the elimination of Saifullah and his associates, underscoring the resilience, courage, and valor of our personnel and intelligence agencies," the Army added.
Labeling this achievement as a "significant setback to the terror network," the Army concluded the post with, "We serve, We Protect!"
Throughout the past year, the joint forces engaged in more than a dozen encounters with a group of Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists hidden in the dense forests of Chatroo in Kishtwar.
As the joint forces pursued the terrorists, the group continuously shifted locations among Kishtwar, Doda, Kathua, and Udhampur districts in the Jammu division.
Due to the relentless pursuit by joint forces, rather than attempting attacks on security personnel, the group led by JeM commander Saifullah remained in a state of constant evasion until they were ultimately neutralized.
On February 7, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a significant security review meeting in Jammu.
He directed the security forces to adopt a mission-oriented strategy to eradicate terrorists hiding in the hilly regions of Jammu while ensuring zero infiltration, aiming for lasting peace in the union territory.
