New Delhi, Feb 17 (NationPress) Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC asserted on Monday that numerous MPs and MLAs from Shiv Sena (UBT) are keen on joining Eknath Shinde.

In a statement to IANS, she noted, "Many MPs, MLAs, and party workers are inclined to join Shinde Ji. When Uddhav Thackeray should have engaged with his supporters, he opted for a different strategy. There’s nothing substantial remaining in UBT."

Regarding the unfortunate stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, Shaina NC expressed her sorrow, referring to it as a tragedy and an accident.

She remarked, "Whether it’s the Railway Minister or any official, if they fail to perform their duties, you can demand anything, but this event was indeed a tragedy, an accident. Political remarks concerning this issue are futile. An investigation is essential to learn from this occurrence and avert similar situations in the future."

Additionally, the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), under the leadership of Elon Musk, has revoked a $21 million grant funded by US taxpayers during the administration of former President Joe Biden, aimed at influencing voter turnout in India.

The Shiv Sena leader insisted on a comprehensive investigation into the funding.

Shaina NC called for scrutiny into the origins of the funding and who might be behind it, seeking to disrupt India’s stability. She highlighted the necessity of preserving a strong and cohesive democratic framework in the nation.

"It is imperative to identify who is behind this funding and those attempting to destabilize India through it. We demand a thorough investigation to ascertain who benefited from this $21 million and the reasons for its distribution during President Biden's administration. The money trail should undergo meticulous examination. The Trump administration had suspended it, but as a robust democracy, India undoubtedly warrants an inquiry into this issue," she stated.

The DOGE, helmed by Elon Musk, announced on Saturday the cancellation of the $21 million funding aimed at boosting voter turnout in India.

This decision was part of broader reductions to international aid, which encompass cuts to various programs in countries like India, Bangladesh, and Mozambique.
