Mumbai, May 20 (NationPress) On Tuesday, Shiv Sena (UBT) officially announced their commitment to supporting the government in making necessary decisions for the nation's welfare through a united all-party delegation.
The party has declared that Rajya Sabha member Priyanka Chaturvedi will join this delegation alongside MPs from various regions. Meanwhile, the Thackeray camp has reiterated its backing for actions serving national interests and demanded that the Centre organize an all-party meeting to discuss issues from Pahalgam to Operation Sindoor, led by the Prime Minister, as soon as possible.
“We are unified in our armed forces’ response to terrorism, and there should be no ambiguity about that,” stated the Thackeray camp.
This initiative by Shiv Sena (UBT) follows a recent boycott by the INDIA Bloc members against the Union government's efforts to send all-party delegations abroad, alleging that such actions would merely justify the government's “sins and crimes.”
Subsequently, NCP (SP) leader Sharad Pawar rebuffed Raut, remarking, “I notice one member from his party (Sena-UBT) is part of the delegation. I believe local politics should not interfere with this matter.”
In a post on X, Shiv Sena UBT mentioned, “Union Minister Kiren Rijiju had a conversation with Party President Uddhav Thackeray regarding this delegation. This delegation focuses on India's fight against terrorism rather than politics, and upon receiving this assurance, we confirmed our commitment to act in the best interest of our nation. MP Priyanka Chaturvedi will participate in the delegation with representatives from other parts of the country. Following the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, all political factions have expressed their support for the Prime Minister in combating terrorism, particularly that which originates from Pakistan, as well as targeting their infrastructure and bases. We are united in our military's efforts against terrorism, and there should be no question about that.”
“We do hold opinions regarding the diplomatic landscape and the shortcomings of the intelligence/security framework on Pahalgam, and we will continue to raise inquiries in the best interests of our nation. However, we must also unite globally to highlight and dismantle Pakistan-based terrorism. We have advised the Union government that while we stand together in this mission, there should be a clearer protocol for informing parties about these delegations to prevent chaos and mismanagement. This was communicated during the recent call, and we have reiterated our support for any action that serves national interests,” the Shiv Sena UBT stated.
“We have also called for an all-party meeting to express our concerns and discuss matters from Pahalgam to Operation Sindoor, led by the Prime Minister, as soon as possible. We remain steadfast in our collective fight against terrorism,” the Thackeray camp added.
