Meerut, March 19 (NationPress) The Meerut police have disclosed disturbing details in the murder case of former Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput, whose remains were discovered in a cement-sealed drum. His spouse, Muskaan Rastogi, along with her paramour, Sahil Shukla, purportedly orchestrated the murder beginning in November 2024.
As per the police investigation, Saurabh was sedated, killed, and dismembered into 15 pieces on March 4. His body parts were concealed in a drum and encased in cement for later disposal.
On that fateful night, Muskaan mixed sleeping pills into Saurabh's meal. Once he was incapacitated, she and Sahil stabbed him and dismembered his body into 15 pieces.
SP City Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed that Muskaan and Sahil confessed to their horrific act, providing details of their sinister plot. They face charges of murder, conspiracy, and evidence tampering.
According to SP Singh, Muskaan agreed to stab Saurabh while Sahil restrained him. Following the murder, Sahil directed Muskaan to fetch a drum, sand, and cement bags. They had brought a knife under the guise of needing it to cut chicken. Subsequently, they dismembered the body, placed it in the drum, and filled it with cement.
The duo then traveled to Shimla and Kasol for a vacation, attempting to establish an alibi while keeping in touch with Saurabh's family through messages.
Upon their return, they schemed to assert that Saurabh had gone abroad. However, financial constraints arose, and when family members inquired about Saurabh's location, a police complaint was lodged.
Eventually, Muskaan and Sahil confessed under police interrogation, leading to their apprehension.
In 2016, Saurabh and Muskaan had a love marriage and welcomed a daughter in 2019. However, Saurabh's decision to resign from his Merchant Navy position to spend more time with his family displeased his relatives, causing tension.
In 2023, he relocated to London to work at a bakery, but financial difficulties persisted. Muskaan's family consistently provided her with support. Saurabh also struggled with a drinking problem, which strained their marriage.
