Smriti Irani Alleges AAP Legislators Aid in Forging Aadhaar Cards for Bangladeshi Nationals

New Delhi, Jan 12 (NationPress) Former Union Minister Smriti Irani has leveled allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), asserting that they are involved in illicit activities. She disclosed that evidence has emerged concerning the fabrication of fake Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and PAN cards meant for illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the Sangam Vihar locality of South Delhi.

Irani claimed that AAP MLAs are facilitating these unlawful operations, asserting that the party's members are significantly implicated in this fraudulent scheme.

She expressed concern over AAP's actions, highlighting that they have led to an illegal infringement on the rights of the people in Delhi and the nation as a whole.

According to her, complaints regarding the distribution of counterfeit Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and voter IDs prompted a case to be lodged at the Sangam Vihar police station in December 2024. The investigation uncovered that these fake Aadhaar cards were manufactured at a shop located in Sector 5, Rohini, Delhi.

Irani mentioned that the shop owner admitted to facilitating the production of Aadhaar cards for illegal infiltrators and Bangladeshi nationals.

Further inquiries revealed that the individuals implicated, Ranjeet and his partner, Afroz, were issuing fraudulent birth certificates through an authorized center, which were subsequently used to create the counterfeit Aadhaar cards, she stated.

Following the arrest of Ranjeet and Afroz, the investigation uncovered alarming findings through the examination of data from confiscated laptops.

A total of 26 Aadhaar update forms were discovered, featuring the signatures and stamps of AAP officials. Among these were the stamps and signatures of AAP Rithala MLA Mohinder Goyal and Bawana MLA Jai Bhagwan, she noted.

During interrogations, 15 individuals confessed to having acquired fake Aadhaar cards, claiming they had procured the signatures and stamps of these MLAs on their updated forms.

Moreover, 10 individuals disclosed that they personally visited MLA Goyal's office and received assistance from his staff in obtaining the necessary signatures and stamps on their forms.

Irani pointed out that the Delhi Police had issued two notices to AAP MLAs and their staff for investigation purposes, yet the Aam Aadmi Party has not responded thus far.
