New Delhi, Feb 3 (NationPress) Just two days ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, the Delhi BJP on Monday brought attention to a report compiled by JNU professors that addresses the purported negative impacts of Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators on the city’s infrastructure and resources.
During a press briefing, BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra referenced the 114-page study by JNU professors Manuradha Chaudhary and Preeti Das, asserting that the influx of Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas from Myanmar has resulted in a demographic alteration in Delhi.
The study, spearheaded by Chaudhary, identifies areas such as Seelampur, Jamia Nagar, Zakir Nagar, Sultanpuri, Mustafabad, Jafrabad, Dwarka, and Gokulpuri as significantly impacted.
He claimed that the report revealed how these infiltrators have drastically affected Delhi’s geographical infrastructure.
He alleged that Rohingyas and Bangladeshis have unlawfully occupied jobs originally intended for workers from Purvanchal and other states in the construction industry.
“The income that should have gone to our brothers and sisters from Purvanchal and other regions is now being funneled to Bangladeshi and Rohingya migrants. There is no documentation for this. Political backing, especially from AAP and Congress, is behind all this. They are manipulating our electoral system by creating fake voter identities,” he stated.
Patra also asserted that illegal immigrants, including Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, are residing in Delhi with the support of AAP and Congress and have links to criminal activities.
The report indicates that clerics and brokers have allegedly assisted in the settlement of these migrants.
Patra noted that the report outlines how fake identities are utilized to establish fraudulent accounts, which adversely affects the livelihoods of Indian workers.
He accused former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his party of protecting such individuals. He warned that if this trend persists, the situation in Delhi will deteriorate.
He urged voters to consider their children's future when casting their votes and to recognize those who oppose the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) while allegedly honoring those involved in the Delhi riots.
Voting for a new 70-member Assembly in Delhi is scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.
