Kollam, Dec 4 (NationPress) Union Minister and BJP MP Suresh Gopi stated on Thursday that the inquiry into the Sabarimala gold smuggling case is presently a police investigation under the direct oversight of the court. He indicated that Central agencies, including the CBI, NIA, and the Enforcement Directorate, are expected to become involved soon.

He warned, “When that moment arrives, no one should throw their hands up and complain,” suggesting an unavoidable broadening of the investigation.

While addressing the BJP-led NDA’s candidates’ meeting in Kollam and unveiling the development charter, Minister Gopi criticized the state government, accusing it of routinely attempting to politicize investigations.

He also mentioned the case against him for allegedly pushing past an individual, affirming his full cooperation with the legal proceedings.

“Kerala has a culture that distorts events and creates stories from thin air,” he remarked, indirectly referring to his detractors.

Regarding the notice issued to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan concerning the Masala Bond issue, the Union Minister clarified that it is not a requirement to appear personally. “It merely requests a response. Proper accounting is essential, whether it concerns KIIFB or any other matter. One may mislead the public, but the system must not be misled,” he asserted, emphasizing that financial audits cannot be dismissed with political speeches.

Gopi also expressed confidence that the BJP would secure a significant victory in the upcoming elections in the Nemom constituency.

“The electorate in Nemom will reelect the BJP. Certain ministers are already anxious and unsettled by this possibility,” he stated, noting that the party's prospects in the capital region remain robust and on the rise.

The actor-turned-politician, who has emerged as a prominent voice for the BJP in Kerala, accused the ruling coalition in the state of fearing transparent investigations.

The NDA meeting marked the official launch of its civic election strategy for Kollam, with leaders asserting that a commitment to corruption-free governance and enhanced civic services would be central to their campaign narrative.
