Damoh, March 27 (NationPress) The PM Surya Ghar Yojana, which aims to deliver free electricity to millions of households nationwide, has yielded remarkable benefits for residents in the Bundelkhand area of Madhya Pradesh.

In Tendukheda, located in Damoh district, the direct advantages of this initiative are evident. Numerous locals have adopted rooftop solar panel systems, with capacities reaching up to 3 kilowatts. These installations have not only significantly reduced their electricity expenses but also allowed many families to access almost free electricity.

Historically, consumers faced exorbitant electricity bills during the summer months, but the implementation of solar technology promises substantial financial relief.

One beneficiary, Swapnil Jain, recounted how he learned about a ₹78,000 subsidy for a 3-kilowatt solar setup through the Post Office Department. After contacting a vendor, he had solar panels installed on his roof.

“My electricity bill, which typically ranged between ₹4,000 and ₹5,000 in the summer, now only totals around ₹400 to ₹500,” he expressed.

Expressing his appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he emphasized the importance of such initiatives in empowering the nation.

Another recipient, Santosh Yadav, shared that he noticed many individuals benefitting from the 'PM Surya Ghar Yojana' and decided to enroll himself.

“My former electricity bill of ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 has now dropped to just ₹400 to ₹500,” he noted.

Yadav elaborated, stating, “The solar panels at my residence generate around 25 to 28 units of electricity daily. This power is directly fed to the electricity department via a smart meter.”

Consequently, the electricity department makes an annual payment equivalent to the total energy contributed to the grid, directly credited to the beneficiary's bank account.

He also highlighted a convenient feature of the solar panel initiative: users can monitor daily energy production in real time through a mobile app, which also indicates the monetary value of the generated electricity.

A significant aspect of this program is the central government’s provision of a subsidy up to ₹78,000 for solar panel installation, which is directly transferred to beneficiaries' bank accounts.

Point of View

It not only boosts individual savings but also supports the broader goal of sustainable energy use in India.
