Patna, April 29 (NationPress) Bihar's Leader of the Opposition and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Tejashwi Yadav reiterated his party's dedication to the Vaishya community, highlighting the importance of trust, collaboration, and a collective quest for self-respect.
His remarks were made during a celebration marking the birth anniversary of Danveer Bhamashah, which took place at the state RJD office's Karpoori Auditorium in Patna, organized by the party's Business Cell.
“Bhamashah has epitomized generosity and sacrifice; his unwavering support for Maharana Pratap in the battle for self-respect is well-known,” Yadav expressed.
He called on the community to embrace Bhamashah's ideals and enhance mutual cooperation.
“We must advance his vision, especially in today's context, where self-respect and mutual aid are vital,” he continued.
Tejashwi Yadav took this opportunity to launch a fierce critique of the NDA government, accusing it of undermining the interests of the business community.
“From GST to various taxation measures, both the Central and state governments are economically pressuring traders,” he stated.
“Rising incidents of murder, theft, and escalating insecurity have fostered a climate of fear among entrepreneurs. You must ponder — why is the so-called double-engine government acting against your interests?”
He urged the Vaishya community to unite with the RJD-led coalition in a resolute battle for dignity and prosperity, promising that for every step they took together, the party would progress four steps ahead.
In a pointed political remark, Tejashwi Yadav proclaimed, “Bihar does not require a fatigued Chief Minister and a retired official,” clearly alluding to CM Nitish Kumar and the significant bureaucratic influence in the current state government.
Emphasizing the accomplishments of the 17-month-long Mahagathbandhan government, the RJD leader asserted that under their governance, investments amounting to Rs 50,000 crore were attracted to Bihar, along with the creation of over five lakh government jobs across various communities.
He also criticized the current NDA administration for neglecting to fill 3.5 lakh existing vacancies.
He expressed disappointment over the cessation of tourism initiatives.
“We had established a tourism policy to bolster business during the Mahagathbandhan government, but Nitish Kumar withdrew his support at the last minute. Now, all those projects are at a standstill,” he noted, adding, “Give us five years, and together we will build a new Bihar.”
The event witnessed a substantial turnout from the Vaishya community, underscoring the RJD's efforts to solidify support from the business and trading sectors ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections.
