Hyderabad, July 6 (NationPress) Telangana Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has sharply criticized the state BJP leaders for their recent letters directed at the state government, highlighting alleged shortcomings.

Following a letter from the newly appointed BJP state president Ramchander Rao to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing the Congress party of failing to keep its promises, the minister responded with a strong rebuttal aimed at the BJP.

Ponnam Prabhakar pointed out the irony in BJP leaders, who have not managed to secure any financial aid for the state from the Centre, writing such letters.

He labeled the BJP-led government at the Centre, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a 'massive failure'.

The minister claimed that the BJP has reneged on all commitments made to the populace during the last three elections.

He declared that the BJP has an extensive record of 'failures'. 'It’s absurd that members of such a party are addressing the chief minister in this manner,' he stated.

'Beyond making grand promises, inciting division, and disseminating misinformation, you have achieved nothing. Every segment of society—including farmers, youth, women, the impoverished, SC, ST, BC, and minorities—has been misled by you. If we were to document your failures, it would rival the length of the Ramayana; if we were to listen, it would be as expansive as the Mahabharata,' he remarked in his response on 'X'.

The Congress leader enumerated the unfulfilled promises made by the BJP during elections, which include a monthly pension for small and marginal farmers over 60 years of age, an increase to ₹6,000 in the annual Kisan Samman Nidhi for farmers' crop investment support, filling 10 lakh government vacancies, ₹15 lakh for every household, and two crore jobs each year.

'What have you accomplished for Telangana in the past 11 years? Not a single paisa has reached Telangana. What have you, or the 8 BJP MPs and 2 Union Ministers from this state, done?' he questioned.

Prabhakar also challenged the BJP leaders on their views regarding Prime Minister Modi's remarks in Parliament, which purportedly criticized the establishment of Telangana.

The minister strongly condemned the BJP for failing to meet the obligations outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

He suggested that state BJP leaders should direct their letters to Prime Minister Modi, urging him to fulfill the promises made to Telangana.

The Congress leader pointed out that asking a government formed just one and a half years ago to deliver on everything in such a short time highlights the 'blind hatred' of BJP leaders.

Point of View

It’s imperative to recognize the growing tension between the Telangana state government and the BJP. This confrontation encapsulates broader concerns regarding accountability and governance in the region. The voices from both sides reflect deep-rooted political rivalries that ultimately influence the welfare of citizens.
