Hyderabad, March 13 (NationPress) Over 500,000 students are set to take part in Telangana's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) public examinations starting this Saturday.
The School Education Department has implemented thorough arrangements to ensure the exams run smoothly across 2,676 centers statewide.
A total of 528,239 students have enrolled for these examinations, which will take place until April 16.
The exams will begin at 9:30 a.m., but the Board of Secondary Education has recommended that students arrive by 8:30 a.m.. Additionally, a grace period of five minutes has been provided for entry into the centers.
Students and their families have been advised to visit their designated exam centers ahead of time to familiarize themselves with the location, ensuring they arrive punctually on the exam day.
The Board has already sent out hall tickets to the respective schools, and these tickets can also be downloaded from the official website www.bse.telangana.gov.in.
A total of 144 flying squads will be deployed to monitor the conduct of the exams and to prevent any malpractices.
Candidates are prohibited from bringing any electronic devices, including mobile phones, calculators, and smartwatches, into the exam centers. Arrangements will be made at the entrance for the secure and free deposit of personal belongings and electronic devices.
This year's SSC exams are unique, spanning 33 days, which is a first. The examination period from March 14 to April 16 has sparked discussions among educators.
In contrast to previous years when exams were completed in 10-12 days, the Board has allowed more extended intervals between the exam papers.
There is a gap of three days between the first and second language exams, five days between Science Part II and Social Studies, and four days between most other subjects, mirroring the approach of the CBSE and other educational boards.
While student unions have criticized the schedule as unscientific and school managements have expressed concerns regarding student stress, the Education Department has defended the structure, stating the aim is to alleviate pressure and enhance performance.
The Governor of Telangana, Shiv Pratap Shukla, has shared his best wishes with students participating in the SSC exams.
He encouraged students to approach their exams with confidence and a positive attitude, urging them to see these assessments as an opportunity to showcase their knowledge rather than a source of anxiety. He stressed the importance of self-confidence, advising students to remain calm, manage their time effectively, and focus on doing their best. He also recognized the vital support from parents and teachers, wishing all students success in their academic endeavors.
Political leaders have also conveyed their good wishes to the students.
