The exams kicked off at 9:30 a.m. at 2,650 examination centres under strict security measures. Candidates were permitted entry until 9:35 a.m. as the Director of Government Examination (DGE) granted a five-minute grace period.

Scenes of bustling activity unfolded outside the examination centres as students, accompanied by their parents, arrived an hour early. Students checked their hall ticket numbers on the boards posted outside to find their assigned rooms.

Police were deployed to manage traffic and ensure the examinations proceeded without a hitch.

The police commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda implemented prohibitory orders around the examination centres to facilitate smooth operations.

Orders under section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, which prohibits assembly within 500 yards of the centres, were enacted to avert disruptions, public hindrances, or potential law and order problems.

Additionally, all photocopy and internet centres located within a 100-metre radius of the examination centres were ordered to close during the examination period.

A total of 509,403 students from 11,547 schools in the state registered for the tests, which will run until April 4.

Examinations will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with the exception of the first language composite course and science subjects. The first language exam is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Part-1 physical science and Part-2 biological science exams will occur on two separate days from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m..

A chief superintendent along with a departmental officer has been designated for each examination centre, and all will be equipped with a CCTV unit.

The DGE has appointed 28,100 invigilators to ensure the examinations run smoothly.

A control room operating around the clock has been established at the DGE office, with all District Educational Offices ready to handle exam-related inquiries.
