Telangana Unveils an Innovative Online Building Approval System

Hyderabad, Dec 3 (NationPress) The Telangana government has officially launched an advanced, integrated online system for building and layout approvals, significantly reducing processing times from weeks to mere minutes.

D. Sridhar Babu, the Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, and Industry, introduced the ‘BuildNow’ system, which aims to decrease the scrutiny duration to less than five minutes, compared to the current wait of 2 to 30 days.

He informed the media that under the existing TG bPASS system, scrutiny can take anywhere from 2 to 30 days, while the new mechanism will speed this up to under five minutes.

Even complex multi-storied buildings with three towers, each exceeding 40 floors, can expect processing times of less than two minutes.

The minister emphasized that since 60% of the state’s populace resides in urban regions, the government is prioritizing urban development and fostering a business-friendly atmosphere.

Describing this initiative as a groundbreaking move toward modern, citizen-focused governance, he noted that Telangana is the first state in India to implement such a rapid drawing scrutiny system.

This innovative system is set to transform approval processes, reducing scrutiny times from weeks to minutes, and establishing a new standard for efficiency, he stated.

Powered by cutting-edge technologies, this system marks a significant evolution in how citizens engage with building regulations and permissions, making the entire process quicker, more dependable, and user-friendly.

Explaining the remarkable features of the new system, he stated that the incredibly swift scrutiny engine can handle even intricate multi-tower buildings in under five minutes.

It features a unified single-window interface, eliminating the need for citizens to navigate multiple departments and different portals.

The system's immersive 3D visualization technology allows citizens to envision their buildings before actual construction.

According to Sridhar Babu, AI-powered assistants are available to provide immediate and precise guidance on building regulations.

Additionally, the system employs blockchain technology to ensure verifiable tracking for every application.

He pointed out that under the TG bPASS system, citizens must contend with multiple platforms for application submissions, status updates, fee payments, and other processes, leading to confusion and delays.

BuildNow offers a single, unified portal that integrates both drawing scrutiny and application processes.

This comprehensive platform guarantees a seamless user experience, with all necessary functions accessible in one location.

Under the current system, building plans are assessed in static, traditional formats, which can result in misinterpretation.

Moreover, citizens lack the ability to visualize projects and verify builders' approved plans.

By leveraging Augmented Reality (AR) technology, the new system provides interactive and immersive visualizations.

This innovative feature allows citizens to see proposed projects in their real-world context, enhancing their comprehension.

Through interactive 3D models, citizens can experience buildings before construction begins, aiding real estate development.

Under TG bPASS, transactions and approvals are not fully transparent to the public, leading to gaps in trust and accountability. In contrast, BuildNow enhances trust and accountability by leveraging public blockchain technology.

This approach guarantees that all actions, approvals, and transactions are transparent and traceable, fostering confidence among citizens.

Under the existing system, applicants often find it challenging to navigate the complex steps and regulations, resulting in mistakes and delays.

An AI-powered virtual assistant is incorporated into the new platform, offering personalized assistance to citizens.

This feature guides users through the application process, addresses questions, and provides tailored support, ensuring that users feel both empowered and informed.
