Patna, Dec 17 (NationPress) A disturbing and menacing video aimed at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has rapidly spread across social media platforms, prompting immediate action from the Bihar Police Headquarters on Wednesday.
Preliminary reports indicate that this video might have been produced by an alleged gangster residing in Pakistan, although officials are yet to verify its source.
In response to media inquiries, Bihar’s Director General of Police (DGP), Vinay Kumar, affirmed that the police are taking the situation seriously.
The investigation has been assigned to the Inspector General (IG) of Patna for an in-depth examination.
“The IG Patna is gathering comprehensive information based on insights obtained from social media,” stated the DGP.
When asked about the origin of the video, DGP Vinay Kumar explained that the matter is currently under technical investigation.
“The posts circulating on social media are being scrutinized, and efforts are in progress to uncover the location from which the video was uploaded and its true source,” he noted.
Stressing the gravity of the situation, the DGP highlighted that due to the implications for the safety and dignity of the Chief Minister, the investigation will be overseen exclusively by senior officials.
“The IG Patna is closely supervising the entire case,” he added.
Authorities have indicated that subsequent actions and a security assessment will be reviewed after the submission of the investigation report.
Officials have ensured that the situation is being monitored diligently, and any threat to public safety will be addressed seriously.
The Pakistani gangster made the threat following an incident on Monday where Nitish Kumar purportedly removed the hijab from a female doctor during an appointment letter distribution event at the CM secretariat’s Samvad hall.
The Chief Minister presented appointment letters to 1,283 AYUSH doctors, including the female doctor Nushrat Parveen.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Health Minister Mangal Pandey were also present during the ceremony.
After the incident, the Chief Minister has faced backlash from various groups, including actress Rakhi Sawant.
Additionally, a woman has reportedly filed an FIR against Nitish Kumar at a police station in Lucknow.
