Giridih, April 1 (NationPress) The lifeless bodies of a woman and her two children were found in a village in Jharkhand's Giridih district on Tuesday, as reported by officials.
The deceased have been identified as Renu Tudu and her six-year-old son, Sachit Hembram, who were discovered hanging from a tree near the pond in Bardauni village in the Tisri block of Giridih. The body of her eight-year-old daughter, Sarita Hembram, was found floating in the pond’s waters.
Authorities indicated that they have taken Charo Hembram, the woman’s husband, into custody in relation to this case.
The tragic incident was unveiled when villagers spotted the bodies suspended from a tree. As the news circulated, a large crowd quickly assembled at the site. Shortly thereafter, the body of the girl was seen floating in the pond, which the villagers retrieved themselves.
Upon notification, police from Lokai-Nayanpur arrived at the location and proceeded to detain Charo Hembram for further questioning.
Reports indicate that the couple had an argument the previous day, with neighbors stepping in to mediate. This dispute is suspected to be connected to the tragic outcomes.
The pond where the bodies were recovered is situated roughly 2.5 km from their residence. All three bodies have been sent for post-mortem analysis.
It is still uncertain whether Renu Tudu took her own life after killing her children or if all three were murdered. Villagers are voicing concerns that Charo Hembram may have been responsible for the incident, expressing doubts about his involvement.
Khori Mahua Subdivision SDPO Rajendra Prasad, who visited the scene, stated that the police are considering all possible aspects to determine the motive behind this case.
“No conclusions have been drawn yet. Evidence has been gathered with the aid of the forensic team, and comprehensive details of the case will be disclosed soon,” Prasad stated.
