Two Arrested for Burglary at Suresh Gopi's Family Residence

Kollam, Dec 11 (NationPress) On Wednesday, the Kerala Police apprehended two young individuals, both of whom are history sheeters, for committing a burglary at the ancestral residence of actor-turned-politician and Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi, located within the Eravipuram police station area.
The suspects, identified as Shiminas and Arun, aged between 18 and 20, have prior allegations related to theft and robbery, as confirmed by an official from the Kerala Police.
The duo was caught after a relative of Minister Suresh Gopi visited the property to check on its condition and discovered that the outhouse doors were left ajar.
Upon further inspection, the relative noticed that several old items stored in the outhouse had been stolen.
Immediately, the relative notified the police, who promptly arrived at the scene.
After conducting a thorough investigation of the vicinity, officers managed to identify the two suspects when they were recognized in the CCTV footage from a neighboring property.
The ancestral home of the minister remains locked, with relatives occasionally visiting to ensure its security.
During the questioning, police uncovered that the two young men had previously stolen old items from the outhouse, having identified it as an easy target due to its lack of regular occupancy.
It remains unclear whether they realized they were robbing the residence of Union Minister Suresh Gopi.
The arrests have been officially recorded, and a police officer indicated that the two individuals will soon be presented before a local magistrate.
Minister Suresh Gopi and his family reside in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram and seldom visit the ancestral home now.
