Two Nationals from Uganda Detained for Trafficking Activities in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 1 (NationPress) Authorities apprehended two Ugandan nationals and a customer following a raid on a brothel in Hyderabad on Sunday.

In response to credible intelligence, the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team of Hyderabad City, in collaboration with Osmania University Police and female officers, executed a raid on the brothel located at Nagarjuna Nagar within the jurisdiction of Osmania University Police Station.

The police initiated a case under sections 143 (trafficking of persons), 144(2) (exploitation of a trafficked individual), and 111 (organized crime) of the Bharat Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Section 3 and 4 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

The detained individuals were identified as 42-year-old Nayebare Doreen, a 22-year-old sub-organizer and victim Komuhangi Ritah, both residing in Nagarjuna Nagar, Tarnaka.

Additionally, customer Potturi Anjan Kumar, a resident of Uppal in Hyderabad, was also taken into custody.

During the operation, police confiscated 160 unused condoms, one used condom, Rs 12,190 in cash, and five mobile phones.

According to Y. V. S. Sudheendra, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Hyderabad City, Nayebare Doreen had rented a house in Nagarjuna Nagar, Tarnaka four months prior. Since then, she has been allegedly operating a brothel with Komuhangi Ritah's assistance. The accused had even advertised her mobile number on 'Locanto' online services.

Explaining the method of operation, the police officer noted that customers who called the number were initially directed to a location in Secunderabad to mislead them, and subsequently sent to Nagarjuna Colony. The location of the brothel was disclosed only after customers arrived at Nagarjuna Colony.

Following credible information about the brothel's activities, police conducted the raid and successfully dismantled the operation.

The arrests were carried out by K. Saidulu, Inspector of Police, along with SIs Srinivasulu Dasu, P. Gnanadeep, C. Raghavender Reddy of the North Zone Task Force, and N. Rajender, Inspector of Police of Osmania University Police Station.
