Uttar Pradesh Government to Establish Luxury Tent City for Mahakumbh 2025

Prayagraj, Dec 3 (NationPress) In a significant move, the Uttar Pradesh government has proclaimed the Maha Kumbh area in Prayagraj as a new district and is now planning to create a lavish tent city comprising over 2,000 Swiss cottage-style tents located in Sector 20 (Arail) of the Mahakumbh Mela zone, aimed at accommodating the millions of devotees expected for the Mahakumbh 2025.

According to an official announcement, this initiative is being implemented by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (UPSTDC), in partnership with six major collaborators: Aagaman, Kumbh Camp India, Rishikul Kumbh Cottage, Kumbh Village, Kumbh Canvas, and Era.

This grand project is designed to serve the anticipated influx of 45 crore visitors from 75 nations.

The tents will be constructed to meet world-class standards, providing amenities akin to those found in five-star hotels.

Accommodations will be available in four tiers: Villa, Maharaja, Swiss Cottage, and Dormitory, with rates ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 35,000 per day.

There will be additional charges of Rs 4,000 to Rs 8,000 for extra guests (excluding dormitory accommodations).

This tent city is being developed in alignment with the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

With around 45 crore pilgrims expected to attend, these tents will be available from January 1 to March 5, offering premium accommodation options.

Visitors can reserve their stays through the UPSTDC website or the Mahakumbh app, as per the announcement.

To ensure guest comfort, the tent city will feature Villa Tents measuring 900 square feet, Super Deluxe Tents varying from 480 to 580 square feet, and Deluxe Blocks ranging from 250 to 400 square feet.

These accommodations will be outfitted with modern conveniences including air conditioning, double beds, mattresses, sofa sets, tailored interiors, writing desks, electric geysers, fire extinguishers, quilts, blankets, mosquito nets, WiFi, dining areas, and communal sitting spaces, all offering picturesque views of the riverbank.

Moreover, the tent packages will incorporate information about yoga, cultural activities, and important religious and historical locations in Prayagraj and its vicinity.

The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government made a pivotal announcement on Sunday, designating the Maha Kumbh area in Prayagraj as a new district.

The forthcoming Maha Kumbh, held once every 12 years, is set to commence on January 13 and conclude on February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj.

The Maha Kumbh is anticipated to mark a significant event in the promotion of Indian culture.
