Jaipur, Nov 13 (NationPress) In light of the Congress party's accusations regarding a purported “vote theft system” in Rajasthan, the District Collector of Sikar has labeled these allegations as “misleading”.
The Congress party claimed that the Election Commission (EC) had issued seven voter identity cards (EPICs) to a single individual named Meghraj Patwa, each with a distinct EPIC number.
The District Collector clarified that the individual had submitted Form 6 online seven times to register as a voter, resulting in the issuance of seven EPIC cards.
“There was negligence on the part of the booth-level officer in verifying these submissions, and disciplinary measures have been taken against the responsible third-level officer,” stated the official.
Furthermore, the Collector indicated that the ongoing revision process aims to purify the voter lists by eliminating duplicate entries.
“During the Special Revision 2026, the affected individual filled out only one enumeration box, so his name will now be listed just once in the voter registry,” the clarification emphasized.
Previously, the Congress party accused the Election Commission of mismanagement, asserting that “PM Modi and the EC have hijacked the entire election system.”
They specifically spotlighted Patwa's situation, referencing allegations of vote theft and stating, “Meghraj applied for a Voter ID, which exposed this misconduct by the Election Commission.”
